Industrial technological revolution and speedy exploitation of every bit of natural resources have caused serious threat to ecosystem of Angul-Talcher region in Angul district of Odisha. Rapid industrialization and mining operations have left with polluted rivers, polluted air, natural calamities, contaminated soil, depleted wildlife and exhausted natural resources. These scenario reflects an alarming situation of grave environmental crisis and ecological imbalance in the whole district.
In the above stated context as an responsive civil society CDS executed a plantation programme in Fulpada GP under Banarpal Block of Angul district, Odisha with support from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Angul.
This plantation area is located in the vicinity of largest Power Grid sub-station of Asia. Nearly 3000 trees of different kind were planted along the road sides under CSR activity.
Caring activities like bamboo fencing and watering were also done by the organization to save the plants. Executives from power grid joined the inauguration of the plantation programme.
